Independent Rep/Distributor Program
Our Rep program is based on three very simple points:
Since our customers are already excited about our clubs, they already pass their club around for others to hit. So we offer wholesale options that motivate that process even more. We are NOT looking for professional golf reps who call on dealers and pro shops and compete for display space with Callaway, Taylor Made, Cleveland, and Nike. Our two-pronged marketing plan is challenging the way it has always been done. We are tapping into the strength of our enthusiastic customers. We advertise directly to the marketplace through local and national newspapers, magazines, radio, and television. This is successful with some people, but it cannot replace actually being able to hit the club and test the various lofts and flexes at a driving range or demo opportunity. So we receive a lot of advertising inquiries asking if we have a local dealer where they can see and test the clubs. We refer those inquires to our local customer Reps who earn $75 to $125 per sale! All you have to do is meet them at a local driving range. If you are interested in getting referral sales from us, and if you are interested in demonstrating clubs at an organized or informal Demo Day and getting paid to say, "Here, try this one," we invite you to become one of our customer reps. If you have not already reviewed the website, media reports, and testimonies about our hot new drivers and 3-Woods, please do that before continuing through this page. The most concise summary is the Q & A Interview. Demo Days
BIG STIK CHALLENGE We call it the "BIG STIK CHALLENGE". We invite people to hit a few shots with their current driver, then hit a few with the BIG STIK. The rest is the easiest part. The key is to get the club in their hands.
An informal demo day is merely being on the range with a few drivers and inviting people to, "...take a few swings with the hottest new driver on the market!" That takes no organization, and can be done for a few minutes or all day. All you have to do is get permission from the course manager, which is typically very easy since you will be giving them $25 for every sale. More on that later...
We can also help you get some media exposure by announcing your Demo Days. But be advised that the more you organize and announce it, the more drivers you will need for inventory and you will likely need some help from a friend. When several people show up at the same time, you don't want them to have to stand in line waiting to hit very long. "The article in the paper was great. A lot of people came because of that. The golf course loved that too."
Andrew Fitzgerald Organized Demo Days are fun, full of action, and very profitable. Host courses love Demo Days because it brings more people to the course and increases their general revenue with no effort or investment other than driving range space, balls, and a complimentary cart to transport the clubs. Of course, they also earn a commission (see below) on every club the Rep sells during the event. Another great option is calling on local school golf teams. With our variety of lofts and flexes, you can fit every player with a club that will hit farther and more consistently than whatever they are currently using. That is what wins tournaments. And a fitting session specifically dedicated to a school team can result in several clubs sold, and when that team plays another team, that leads to more fitting sessions that can keep expanding and expanding.
Qualifications Reps do not need to be advanced golfers. The most important qualifications are a love of golf, a friendly disposition, and a teachable spirit. As long as you can say, "Here, try this one!" you can be very successful. When people hit the loft and flex that matches their swing, they will eagerly buy the club. Independent, Self-Employed, Tax Benefits Our Reps are “Independent”. Therefore, Reps do not collect a salary from DivnickGolf™. Reps are self-employed and have no limits on how much money they can earn, when they need to go to work, or how long they need to continue. There are significant tax advantages to self-employment. Reps can deduct all expenses related to producing income such as their own golf clubs, driving range and greens fees associated with testing and demonstrating the clubs, computer and Internet connections, telephone, cell phone, vehicle, and many other expenses. Reps must consult with an accountant about these issues. We do not provide legal or tax advice.
Although we will consider full time Reps to service a territory professionally, our primary goal is to attract part time customer reps to hold as many Demo Days as possible, especially during our initial year. So we are very open to someone who wants to hold one or two Demo Days but does not want to commit to a long-term plan. We have one retired customer who liked his driver so much that he bought 10 more wholesale just to pass along to his friends. That was so easy, he bought 20 the next time, and is now deducting his golf expenses and spending some time on the weekends at the driving range handing people drivers.
Commissions and Gross Profit The following table illustrates the normal margins and gross profits for drivers (rounded to full numbers). It is based on the 50% discount option which requires a purchase of 20 or more clubs. There is a 40% discount available for 10 to 19.
Additionally, it is relatively easy to up-sell a customer to include a high-loft 3-Wood which adds even more profit per sale ($75 each). Also, you can either sell our popular, "I Carry A Big Stik" hats (see below), or throw them in as an incentive to make the sale.
BIG STIK Hats
Our hats feature the catchy phrase, "I Carry a Big Stik" and "I Swing A Big Stik". The MSRP is $24.95 and the Rep cost is an introductory $10 each. These hats can be used as a sales incentive to promote a buying decision such as giving a free hat with the purchase of two clubs. Click here to read more about our deluxe hats.
Cost of Becoming an Independent Rep There is no fee to become a local Rep or Demo Day presenter. Reps are not buying a territory or franchise. However, we recommend a minimum of 10 to 30 clubs of varying lofts and flexes. We will help you decide on the mix based on your market place. If you are only wanting to offer the clubs to people who are already at the range, then 10 is enough. But if you organize and promote a "Demo Day" you will want at least 20. Trial Option: If you have not yet personally experienced these clubs, we do not recommend that you make a wholesale investment as your first purchase. Our sample-trial policy allows you to purchase "samples" at a $100 discount each. Then, if you purchase a wholesale quantity within 30 days after receiving your samples, we will deduct the wholesale difference off the samples at that time.
"I carried the driver into the restaurant and soon had a crowd around my table. This thing really generates excitement."
Don Thomas Referral Commissions Some of our best Reps are referred by an existing Rep. We will award a $250 credit to any Rep who refers a person to us who becomes a Rep. The new incoming Rep must tell us who referred them. DivnickGolf™ Product Line
